Barry Pearce “Bear” & Janet Johanson “JJ” have owned and operated Bear’s Eatery in Kimberley, B.C. since 2010. We originally started out as a classic diner seating 45 in our tiny restaurant with Chef Bear doing all of the cooking and baking and JJ running the front of the house. Over the past 10 years we have offered our customers home cooked meals using nothing but the finest of ingredients. We have gained an excellent reputation for our dessert pies and homemade gourmet pot pies in the East Kootenay. When Covid-19 hit in March 2020, we took the opportunity to reinvent ourselves to Bear’s Pie Factory and focus on our strengths: PIE!
Bear has a passion for doing things the old fashioned way, making everything from scratch. We make all our gourmet pot pies with the best natural ingredients available, free from preservatives.
We slow roast everything in house for our gourmet pot pies, using only fresh vegetables and topping them with our melt in your mouth scratch pastry.
Our dessert cream pies are made with old fashioned English style custards using fresh cream and topped homemade whip cream.
Our fruit pies are made with love using local fruit, whenever possible, enveloped in Bear’s incredible pastry.
